    Sukhwinder Driver Sukhwinder Oxford, Littlemore

Man with a Van Local to Oxford

    OX4 11 Jul 2026

Our customer needed 15 medium boxes and a few light items moved from St Clement's to a storage unit in Blackbird Leys. Sukhwinder loaded everything into the Transit in about an hour, then made the short 25-minute drive across Oxford to the facility. The boxes were all under 10 kg each, which made stacking them inside the unit straightforward, the kind of job that works well when timing doesn't line up and items need a temporary home before the final leg.

    Kalidou Driver Kalidou

Man with a Van Local to Bristol

    BS5 27 Jun 2026

Robyn needed a bedroom's worth of items moved from Lawrence Hill into a storage unit in Eastville, a mix of furniture, artwork, clothes, pushchairs, and baby gear that needed careful stacking to fit the unit properly. Kalidou loaded everything into the Transit in an hour, then drove across to the storage facility and unloaded it all methodically into the bay. The whole job took under two hours from start to finish. Robyn left a five-star review saying Kalidou went above and beyond on what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year, making sure she felt safe and supported throughout.

    ★★★★★

“He was absolutely incredible. I needed a lot of help as I'm heavily pregnant and he single handedly moved all of my house stuff out of a storage unit, as well as helping me to get to it with my bags, and then unloaded all of into my home. On one of the hottest days of the year. He made sure I was okay and honestly as a single parent this man was an absolute hero. He was also so kind and lovely and made me feel safe. Thank you so, so much Kalidou ☺️”

Igors Driver Igors 5.0 (1) Bristol, St Andrews

Man with a Van Local to Bath

    BA1 → BA11 26 Jun 2026

Igors cleared out a full 100 sq ft storage unit in Walcot and drove everything to a house in Frome East, washing machine, sofa, fridge, bed, and boxes of other bits. The customer came along to help, and with the two of them working together, Igors loaded the entire unit in five hours, then made the short drive across Somerset. Storage unit clearances are about rhythm and stacking smartly; this one went clean.

Ionut Driver Ionut 5.0 (1) Chorley, Chorley North West

Man with a Van Local to Bolton

    BL1 14 Jun 2026

Our customer needed a storage cupboard and small yellow chaise long moved from Smithills into a storage unit in the same area. Ionut collected both items and worked with a helper to load everything carefully into the Luton van, a 3.5-hour job that required precision packing to make sure everything would sit properly once unloaded into the unit bay. The drive to the facility was short, but the real work came at the storage end, where Ionut and his helper made sure each piece was positioned to maximise the space and keep everything accessible.

Dominic Driver Dominic 5.0 (50) Bristol, Cotham

Man with a Van Local to Bristol

    BS1 → BS3 12 Jun 2026

Our customer needed a 1-bedroom flat's worth of belongings moved into storage in Southville, eight boxes, six tall laundry bags, a coffee table, and an ironing board. Dominic loaded everything in an hour and drove it across Bristol in about 30 minutes. The storage unit access was tight, so careful stacking was key to fit it all in efficiently and make sure nothing shifted during the load.

    ★★★★★

“Really great, helped me move my stuff very quickly. Great prices. Would book this service again no doubt.”

Dominic Driver Dominic 5.0 (50) Bristol, Cotham

Man with a Van Local to Bristol

    BS9 → BS5 31 May 2026

Dominic collected around 10 larger bags, 4 boxes and a suitcase from Stoke Bishop and drove them across to a storage unit in Lawrence Hill. The load took an hour to pack in carefully, then the 40-minute drive got everything to the facility. With no helper on this one, it was all about stacking smart in the unit to make the most of the space, the kind of mid-move staging job that keeps things accessible when the customer needs them again later.

    ★★★★★

“Excellent experience! I can only recommend Dominic. He has a clean, spacious van and he is a polite, patient and very good calm driver.”

    S Driver Shoaib

Man with a Van Dundee to St Andrews

    KY15 21 May 2026

This was a furniture-to-storage job for our customer — a full load of furniture that needed moving out and into a storage unit. Shoaib gave it a steady three hours of loading at the collection end, taking care with each item as it went into the van. Once it reached the unit, he stacked everything securely inside. A straightforward consolidation run, with the furniture left in good order and easy to get at again whenever it's wanted.

    ★★★★★

“Shoaib was wonderful, he was energetic, professional, motivated, careful, nothing was too much trouble, a great delight to work with and look forward to working with him again in the future”

    More about Warehouse Transport

Local moving help, explained in detail

The most common version of this booking is straightforward overflow. A growing family needs the spare room back. A renovation is starting and the living-room furniture needs to come out first. A house swap with a partner means two sets of furniture going into one place.

The driver loads at your home and delivers to your storage unit. You'll need to be there to let the driver in, or arrange access in advance. Most Safestore, Big Yellow and Shurgard sites have trolleys and lifts available on site. Loading time covers the work at both ends. A full room of furniture typically takes 45 to 90 minutes to load and unload. A few boxes and a sofa is quicker.

Renovation storage is a two-trip booking. The first takes the furniture out before work begins. The second brings it back when the room is ready. Both are booked the same way.

Most renovation jobs need the furniture out for a few weeks. Safestore, Big Yellow and Shurgard all offer short-term unit contracts, so the storage cost is manageable. The TVMC side of it is just the two transport legs. Book the outbound trip first, then book the return when you have a finish date. Using the same driver for both trips means no re-briefing about access, awkward items or building logistics.

Inherited furniture is a common reason for this booking. A parent or grandparent's home being cleared. Pieces worth keeping but no room for them yet. A decision to make later, once things are settled or a new place is found.

The driver collects from the family member's address and takes the items to storage. You don't need to be at the collection point yourself if someone else can give access. For larger clearances with multiple items across a property, a Luton with realistic loading time covers most of it. Multi-stop bookings work if items are coming from more than one address to the same storage unit.

Warehouse Transport — frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about this service

    8 FAQs

Can you take furniture to self-storage when I've run out of room at home?

Yes. That's the main use case for this booking. Book the van size that fits your load, add realistic loading time, and the driver takes your items to whichever storage facility you've arranged.

Do I need to arrange the storage unit myself?

Yes. TVMC handles the transport. You arrange the unit directly with Safestore, Big Yellow, Shurgard or whichever provider suits you. Once you have the unit, book the driver to do the run.

What van size do I need?

A medium van handles a few boxes and smaller pieces. A large van suits a mid-sized room load. A Luton covers full-room furniture, sofas and beds. The booking system shows all three sizes side by side with prices.

Can you also bring things back from storage when I need them?

Yes. Book a separate return trip when you're ready to retrieve items. If you used the same driver on the way in, rebooking through their profile keeps the arrangement consistent.

Can you pick up inherited furniture from a family member's address?

Yes. Give us the collection address and the storage facility address. Someone needs to be at the collection point to give access. Driver loads and delivers directly.

Which storage facilities do you work with?

Any facility you've arranged a unit with. Safestore, Big Yellow, Shurgard, Access Self Storage, Lok'nStore, Ready Steady Store and independents are all fine. The booking system doesn't restrict which provider you use.

Can you clear furniture out for a renovation and bring it back afterwards?

Yes. Two separate bookings: one to take the furniture out, one to bring it back. Both work the same way. Using the same driver for both runs means they already know the access and the items.

    How does payment work?

20% deposit to secure the booking when you confirm, the remaining balance is settled on the day.

Warehouse Transport available across the UK

Local drivers covering cities, towns, counties and regions

    259 areas

Furniture-to-storage transport runs across the UK through the same driver network as every other TVMC service. The booking works wherever you are: home postcode in, storage facility postcode in, van size selected, done.

Major self-storage chains covered include Safestore, Big Yellow, Shurgard, Access Self Storage, Lok’nStore and Ready Steady Store, plus most independent operators. The highest concentrations of sites are in and around London (the M25 corridor has more than 100 facilities across the inner suburbs and commuter belt), Manchester, Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, Bristol and the Severnside corridor, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Most mid-sized market towns now have at least one independent self-storage operator alongside the chains.

The reasons people use this service cover a lot of ground. A growing family needing the spare room back. A renovation starting and the furniture coming out first. A parent’s house being cleared with pieces worth keeping. A relationship ending and belongings being split across two addresses. A downsize in progress with items in limbo until the new place is sorted. Seasonal storage for garden furniture, ski gear or bulk Christmas decorations. All of these fit the same booking model.

A medium van covers most smaller runs: a few boxes, a couple of chairs, a bookcase. A large van handles a mid-sized room load. A Luton covers full-room furniture including sofas, wardrobes and beds. For jobs with more volume than a single Luton load, booking two trips on the same or different days covers the rest. The booking system handles all van sizes and shows prices side by side.
