“My favourite part about using Van Manager is when I get a notification for a job booking on my phone — and being able to accept or reschedule the booking in one or two clicks. Manual quoting used to waste so much time and my brain always felt fried at the end of a busy day.”
“I convert more bookings now than I used to because customers no longer have to wait for me. That alone pays for the monthly cost, let alone all the agro saved. It’s definitely changed how my business runs.”
Why quoting jobs takes so long
You’re on a job. Phone’s going off. Missed calls, WhatsApp messages, Facebook enquiries — all while you’re trying to work. By the time you get back to them, half have already booked someone else.
The ones who haven’t want a price — so you’re pulling over, working out distances, typing out quotes on your phone. Then there’s the back-and-forth: confirming dates, chasing replies, updating your calendar manually.
It’s costing you jobs, costing you time, and it adds up fast.
Instant quotes, booked on the spot
A customer asks for a price. You send them one link. They enter their postcodes, pick a date, and get an accurate price in seconds — calculated automatically based on distance and van size.
They book you on the spot. You both get instant confirmation emails. Need to reschedule? Accept, decline, or rearrange jobs on the fly from your phone — even while you’re out on a job. Customers are kept in the loop automatically at every step.
No back-and-forth. Just jobs, confirmed and in your calendar.
Van Manager cuts each enquiry to under 2 minutes whilst increasing your conversion rate.
Book the first to respond
Most customers go with whoever gets back to them first. The average tradesperson takes 4–6 hours. Your customers get a price in seconds.
Saved every week for the avg. driver
That’s a full working day back — time you could spend on paid jobs instead of quoting, chasing, and calendar admin.
Built in from start to finish
Booking requests, confirmations, rescheduling — customers get instant emails at every step. No chasing, no missed messages.
How time-based quoting works
Most man and van software still quotes the old way — stairs, access, how many boxes. Van Manager prices on the only figure that actually predicts what a job costs you.
The customer books time, not items
No questions about stairs, access or how many boxes. The customer books a block of loading and unloading time and decides what to fit into it. If a job overruns, the extra time is charged at your hourly rate.
Route time is the full round trip
Van Manager calculates base to pick-up to drop-off and back to base. You’re paid for both commute legs, so a job on the other side of the county is still worth taking.
One number instead of twenty questions
Traditional quoting tries to predict complexity that varies wildly from job to job. Underquote and you lose money, overquote and you lose the job. Time removes the guesswork for both of you.

Do I need to be a TVMC driver?
Yes — Van Manager is available to drivers on the TVMC network, and signing up is free. We list you on our site, send you job leads, and give you access to the driver portal, where you can add Van Manager whenever you’re ready. We take 20% on bookings that come through our site, and nothing at all on the bookings you win yourself. There’s no obligation to accept work from us — many drivers use the network on its own and it works great.
Common questions
Quoting, commission, and what you need to get started.
01
Do I need to be a TVMC driver to use Van Manager?
Yes, but joining the network is free and takes a few minutes. There’s no obligation to accept work from us. We charge 20% only on bookings we send you — bookings you win yourself through Van Manager cost you nothing beyond the monthly fee.
02
Does Van Manager take a commission on my own bookings?
No. You set your own rates and keep the full amount. Van Manager is a flat monthly or annual fee with no percentage taken on jobs you bring in yourself.
03
How is this different from other man and van software?
Most job management software still quotes the traditional way, asking about items, stairs and access. Van Manager quotes on time: the customer books a block of loading time, and route time is calculated as the full round trip from your base. It removes the guesswork that makes quoting slow and inaccurate.
04
Can I put the quote calculator on my own website?
Yes, on the Pro plan. You can embed it on your own site with your own branding, and collect deposits through Stripe.
05
What happens if a job takes longer than the customer booked?
The customer is liable for the extra time at your hourly rate. Because they book a block of loading and unloading time up front, both sides know where they stand before the van arrives.
06
How much does Van Manager cost?
Basic is £22 a month or £199 a year. Pro is £33 a month or £299 a year, and adds custom branding, website embedding, Stripe deposits and multiple van sizes. The Partner tier, which includes area exclusivity and managed advertising, is priced on application.
