? How Our Quoting Works
We send each job to several local removalist partners and select the best quote. If your quote is successful, The Van Man Co pays you directly — you don't deal with the customer on price at all.

Estimate the time. Decide how many hours this job should take — from arriving at pickup to saying goodbye at dropoff.

Set your price. This is the total you want to be paid for those hours. Quote a price you'd be genuinely happy with — competitive quotes are more likely to win the job.

Set an overtime rate. If the job runs over your estimated hours, the customer pays you directly at this hourly rate for any extra time.
Example
You select "Up to 6 hours" and quote £450.
You'll be paid £450 whether the job takes 3 hours or 6.
If it takes 7 hours, you receive £450 + 1 hour at your overtime rate.
What's not included in this quoting format:
- No per-item or inventory-based pricing — we don't charge by the box or sofa.
- No surcharges for extra items on the day. We know customers often underestimate how much stuff they have — and sometimes unforeseen things happen, like a sofa not fitting through a door. As long as the job is completed within your stated time, there's no extra charge.
- No hourly-rate-only quotes — your quote must be a fixed price for a set number of hours.
- No custom formats — all quotes must use the standardised form below. We can only continue to send work to partners who use our quoting system.
