Our customer's large couch needed moving within Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston, and Dominic loaded it into the Transit in 30 minutes. Marketplace pickups are the largest single category of bulky-item bookings. Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Gumtree and Vinted Home all generate buyers who've committed to a piece of furniture and need it collected from a stranger's house. Seller's postcode is the pickup, your address is the drop-off. The driver meets the seller, loads the item and delivers.
The biggest practical issue is access at the seller's end. Narrow stairs, awkward doorways, parking restrictions. The driver will work it out on arrival, but flagging known issues in the booking notes saves time. Multi-stop bookings let you collect from several sellers in one run if they're in the same area. Same-day slots are common when sellers are flexible on timing.
Retail collection is the second-biggest single-item use case. A sofa from DFS, a bed from John Lewis, a kitchen unit from IKEA, and the retailer's delivery slot is six weeks away or costs as much as the item. The TVMC booking covers store pickup, transport home and unloading, with assembly available to add for flat-pack orders.

For larger orders, pick a Luton so everything fits in one trip. For a single piece, a large van is usually enough. The hourly rate covers the full round trip. No separate delivery fee on top.
Single bulky items between private addresses are the most varied bookings. Inheriting a sofa from a relative, a fridge from a friend who's moving, a wardrobe from an estate sale. The volume is small but the items are heavy or awkward.
Pick a van size based on the item. A 3-seater sofa usually fits a large van. Corner sofas and L-shapes typically need a Luton. Same for American fridge-freezers because of the height. Heavy items over 80-100kg benefit from a helper. For items that won't fit through a doorway in one piece, the dismantle-to-fit option has the driver take it apart at pickup and rebuild at drop-off. Bulky item delivery runs across the UK through the same driver network as every other TVMC service. Most bookings are Marketplace pickups. London generates the most, with daily collections across every postcode area. Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, Cardiff and Nottingham all see regular volume. Smaller cities and towns work the same way.
Items covered span the full range of household furniture. Sofas in most configurations, beds from singles to super-king, wardrobes, mattresses, dining tables, sideboards, white goods. If it fits in a Luton van, it is in scope.
