Marketplace pickups are the largest single category of bulky-item bookings. Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Gumtree and Vinted Home all generate buyers who've committed to a piece of furniture and need it collected from a stranger's house. Seller's postcode is the pickup, your address is the drop-off. The driver meets the seller, loads the item and delivers.
The biggest practical issue is access at the seller's end. Narrow stairs, awkward doorways, parking restrictions. The driver will work it out on arrival, but flagging known issues in the booking notes saves time. Multi-stop bookings let you collect from several sellers in one run if they're in the same area. Same-day slots are common when sellers are flexible on timing.
Retail collection is the second-biggest single-item use case. A sofa from DFS, a bed from John Lewis, a kitchen unit from IKEA, and the retailer's delivery slot is six weeks away or costs as much as the item. London generates the most, with daily collections across every postcode area. Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, Cardiff and Nottingham all see regular volume. Smaller cities and towns work the same way.
Items covered span the full range of household furniture. Sofas in most configurations, beds from singles to super-king, wardrobes, mattresses, dining tables, sideboards, white goods. If it fits in a Luton van, it is in scope.
