A mix of both works best. Boxes are better for folded items like jumpers, jeans, and t-shirts — they stack neatly in the van and stay crease-free. Bags are perfect for hanging clothes: pull a bin liner over a bunch of items on the rail, tie it round the hangers, and hang them straight in the wardrobe at the other end. Vacuum bags are great for bedding, towels, and duvets — they shrink down and save loads of space. Avoid binliners for anything fragile, and don’t pack any single box too heavy to lift. Label everything by room. Your driver will load faster, and you’ll spend less time hunting for things on the first night.
