What Is the Cheapest Month to Move?

January and February are the cheapest months to move house in the UK. Demand drops sharply after Christmas, the property market goes quiet, and removals firms have plenty of room in their diaries. November is the next cheapest, just before the festive rush kicks in. The most expensive months are June through August, when school holidays drive a wave of family moves, plus the end of March around tax year-end. If you can be flexible with timing, moving in winter can save you a fair bit compared with peak summer. The Van Man Co’s hourly rates don’t change with the season, but quieter months mean shorter wait times and more driver choice.
