What is a Full Removalist Service?

A full removalist service is the all-inclusive tier of professional moving. The customer hands over the keys and the crew handles everything from supplying boxes through to placing furniture in the new home. It contrasts with a man and van service, where the customer typically packs themselves and the driver focuses on loading, transport, and unloading.

What’s included as standard:

  • Packing materials. Boxes, tape, bubble wrap, mattress bags, blankets for fragile and large items. Delivered a few days ahead of the move.
  • Packing labour. A team comes the day before (or the same morning for smaller jobs) and packs every room.
  • Furniture dismantling. Beds, wardrobes, dining tables. Reassembled at the new property.
  • Loading and unloading at both ends. Carries through hallways, up stairs, into rooms.
  • Transport in a properly sized vehicle. A 7.5-tonne lorry for whole houses, a Luton or larger for smaller properties.
  • Optional unpacking. Some quotes include laying out essentials in the new home; others leave it to the customer.
  • Goods in transit insurance. Cover up to a stated limit per item.

Pricing is usually fixed once the pre-move survey is complete, rather than hourly. That gives you a known total before move day, with the trade-off of paying more than a man and van would charge for a similar job.

Best fit: full house moves of 2 bedrooms or more, properties with significant fragile or antique inventory, long-distance relocations, anyone who doesn’t have time to pack themselves.
